Election Commission of Pakistan ECP has warned of
stern action against government servants refusing to perform election
duties on one pretext or another.
According to Media Reports, ECP has authorized Returning Officers across
the country to issue arrest warrants of government servants not willing
to perform election duties.
Besides this, the Chief Secretary has also been asked to take action
against such officers.
Lahore: The District Returning Officer has issued arrest warrants against 1,000 government employees over refusal to perform election duties.
According to details, these officials were summoned repeatedly to appear in the election offices and collect ballot boxes but they failed to show up.
The District Returning Officer has now issued arrests warrants of some 1000 employees, and ordered concerned SHOs to arrest and produce them before court.
